Hate As A Loving Thing.

A morning Blog:

Hate As A Loving Thing.

We talk of the importance of ‘love’ and often perceive ‘hate’ as the opposite to ‘love’. However we need to be less ‘polarized’ in our assumptions. Hate, can be a ‘loving thing’; and is an important part in truly loving the Lord.

“You who love the Lord; Hate Evil” – Psalms 97:10

Here in the Psalms is a directive to ‘hate” that is inseparably linked to ‘loving’ the Lord.

The command to all who ‘love the Lord’ is to ‘hate’ evil.

We learn then that ‘Hate’ in it self is not always a catagorically ‘bad thing’. Hate can be, and is a ‘good’ and ‘right’ thing in the correct context.

Here is such a context where ‘hate’ is a good, right and indeed a ‘loving’ thing.

Those who Love the Lord are to ‘Hate’ evil.

Hate comes from the Hebrew word transliterated: ‘Sane’.

When taken in context with the idea of ‘hating evil’ – ie. hating that which is wrong, injurious, bad, wicked; ones mind readily jumps to the English sense what being ‘Sane’ means and can easily appreciate the connection between the ‘insanity of a world’ that loves Evil, promotes what is sinful, injurious, wrong as defined by the authority of an all knowing, loving God. At least as those who love the Lord.

The world is growing more insane everyday in its rebellion against the morals and values ordained by God.

Sanity is restored as we learn to ‘hate’ evil and do ‘right’ as God defines it.

If we love the Lord, we will hate evil as he does.

To not hate evil is glaring evidence that one does not really love the Lord; at least as he or she ought.

Hating evil is part of a maturing process for a believer in coming to love the Lord as he calls us too.

As part of his love for the Lord David writes:

‘I hate every false way’ – Ps.119:28, &104

‘I hate and abhor lying: ‭but‭ thy law do I love.‭’ – Ps.119:163

‘I hate vain thoughts’ – Ps.119:113

Others Scriptures contribute:

‘The froward mouth i do hate’ – Proverbs 8:13

‘I hate the work of them who turn aside’ – Psalm 101:3

Proverbs 6:16 speaks of seven things the Lord hates.

God hates all these evil things and more. If we Love the Lord; we will truly hate them too.

Love has many facets, and hating what God hates is a ‘Loving thing’.

THE EVENT THAT CHANGED THE UNIVERSE OF MANKIND

HEBREW HONEYCOMB

William Andrew Dillard
THE EVENT THAT CHANGED THE UNIVERSE OF MANKIND

This is a story of extreme opposites: of love and hate; of joy and despicable shame; a consummation of the crowning act of victory in experience marked “finished” from the foundation of the world. It is a story of the ultimate encouragement and motivation of God’s people in every generation until the age is closed. It is a story that will be the song of the saints while eternal eons roll ever onward in the endless bliss it provides.
Here then is the story so powerfully condensed in the words of Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
It is a story of love and hate. “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting live.” How deeply did and does God love the creative work of His own hands, especially the crowning act of it all, mankind. Yet He patiently endured such great contradiction of sinners against Himself. It is also a story of joy and despicable shame: “Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the same.” What enormous joy is that of the post resurrected Jesus. While His crucifixion and resurrection was predetermined and foreordained, the experiential side of it all is the grandest story of the universe. Shame? Indeed much shame! How may one fairly estimate the shame of one sinless voluntarily taking upon Himself the sins of the world, and bearing the consequences of it? Though minor compared to this, how much shame was endured on the cross as a beaten body near death was lifted up as a scoffing point to the world? How much shame was endured as He was stripped of His clothing for rogue soldiers to gamble over, while He must die in sight of all in nakedness, bearing the full force of sin for others?
Yet, it is a story of encouragement and motivation for His people in every generation of the age. It is He who is both author and finisher of our faith. We are to look to Him in this crucial event, and we are to rejoice in His victory, lest we become weary and faint in our mind, which too many have done.
Here then is the story that will be the song of the saints in the never-ending, day of the final heaven age. It is recorded in Rev. 5:9, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and has redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people , and nation.” Then again, Rev. 5:12-13, “. . . Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. . . “ AMEN! AND AMEN! WHAT A STORY!!

MARCH 5 – He delivered me

MARCH 5 – He delivered me

II Samuel 22:18 – He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

What a wonderful declaration. I have been delivered. Let me what I have been delivered from. I have been delivered from the penalty of sin. Where I was condemned, now I am set free. Someone paid that sin penalty for me. Jesus took my place. He took the penalty of sin for me and died in my place. I have placed my faith, trust, and belief in Him as my savior.

O, what a Savior.

I have been delivered from ignorance. Once when I did not know about sin and condemnation, God, through His Word informed me of my condemnation and that justice was required. When I was set free of that ignorance then I sought the Lord. I was set free from the chains of bondage that held me in the cesspool of this wicked world. I was set free from the ignorance of the right life to live. I no longer live for my own pleasure or my own enjoyment. I live for the one that forgave me.

I have been delivered.

I have been delivered from false religion and false worship. I began life worshiping my self. Yes, I did everything that pleased me. Then I found a way to appease that part of me that said there was more. Therefore I started worshiping those things that I thought would get me to heaven. I tried to be good and I included baptism yet there was that part that was missing. I had never repented. I repented and was set free. I learned that God has set a path that I am to follow in for salvation. He has set the path for the type of life I should live. He has set the parameters for my worship of him.

I Have Been Delivered.

I have been delivered from the habit of sin. The chains have been broken that bound me to lying, cheating, and stealing. Continually every day as I study and learn God’s Word my mind is being reclaimed from the effects of humanism, that thought process that made me my own god. My mind is being reclaimed from the evil and ugly thoughts that once crowded my mind. My body is responding to this renewing of my mind. The outward is reflecting the inward. My speech is more becoming a child of God. My dress is more becoming a child of God. My conduct is more becoming a child of God. My desire is to exalt God and not self.

I Have Been Delivered. Have you been delivered from the world?

Here We Go Again

In England, a street preacher has been arrested for saying that several things were sin. He says he enumerated several things that the Bible called sin to a woman on the street. A female policewoman apparently only hear that homosexuality was sin. She arrested him. There is a law that apparently can be construed to bring about his arrest.

The problem I see here is that freedom of speech is allowed for anyone but a christian. Muslim prayers may and can be offered in our schools in the United States but not a christian prayer. The hate crime laws have opened a chink that can be forced to write a law that would encompass hate speech. Any doubts about how that law would be enforced?

The Lord’s coming is soon. His wrath will be sudden, quick and severe. Even so come Lord Jesus!!
