FEBRUARY 11 – OUR EYES DECEIVE US
JUDGES 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
We have now raised a generation that are adults now and called Millennials. These adults have been raised to believe they are entitled, narcissistic, self-interested, unfocused, and lazy. Entitled is the biggest. There are those that make demands and when demands are met they are still not happy.
They were told they were special and could have anything they wanted in life without earning it. They were put in an honors class without deserving it. They received participation medals instead of medals for being the best. Their ego has been built to an enormous level. Because of this elevated ego when they try to answer a problem they really have no clue about the problem. They do not have a coping mechanism for stress. They seek instant gratification.
Because of instant gratification, they are willing to bend Gods rules to achieve quickly a semblance of success. Because of lack of patience, they want to be at the top of the mountain without climbing it. Today we have many that want to do it their way and relegate God to the sidelines. Salvation has been deemed to be the most important thing in Gods Word and everything else can be shunted to the side.
The reason we cannot have a civil discourse where respect is prominent is the above ego gets in the way. Then there are those that think they already know everything. So we do what is right in our own eyes. We should earnestly seek the face of God and embrace all the things that Jesus taught. Who am I to pick through His Word as if it is a smorgasbord and accept some and reject or modify others to create my own version.
Let us accept Gods way. Let us work Gods plan.
