“And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed,” Acts 14:23.
Paul had a formula for establishing churches: (1) preach the gospel, (2) baptize those who have believed, (3) encourage them to not give up when persecution comes (tribulation and Christianity go together), (4) ordain leaders to guide the church, (5) pray and fast, and (6) leave them in the Lord’s hands in whom they have believed. It was up to God to grow the His church.
The churches are God’s business. God can do His business. Man must make himself available to do whatever God has commanded. After having gone (a plan to go has been executed), then make disciples, (bring them into the assembly) and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them all the things Christ taught the apostles.
Establishing churches sounds simple, but in reality, it can become complicated, and those who are called into the kingdom business of establishing new churches need lots of prayer and support.
Satan will work from the outside to make churches give up. If that does not work, he attacks from the inside. Be ye overcomers. Start strong, finish strong.
